John Jeffreys Presentation on Section 100A. I’d like to give a big shout-out to John Jeffreys for presenting last night to our Northern Beaches Accountants Discussion Group. John made the trip from Melbourne to Sydney specifically to speak to our accountants group for 2 hours on the ATO’s section 100A draft guidance on trusts. John’s presentation was comprehensive and very interactive with dozens of questions asked by our group. Plus John has the ability to explain this complex area of tax in language that us accountants can easily understand. My understanding of the ATO’s position on section 100A has improved dramatically as a result of John’s excellent presentation and expertise in this area. John also provided us with solutions that may prevent the Commissioner from applying section 100A. If your firm is looking for a tax specialist to present on section 100A or any other tax topic, then John is the go to person.
Beyond John’s ability to succinctly, clearly and in such an affable manner present a truly complex matter of the Tax legislation which is a credit to John. I attended the Trust Issues webinar and found it be informative, engaging and practical. John gave a good overview of Trust issues and Schedule 2F, all in the space of an hour at lunch time.
